With the obligatory groundbreaking ceremony on September 27, 2022, NITRAS marked the official start of construction of the new logistics center in Bedburg Mühlenerft. In addition to a 16-meter high, modern warehouse with 10,500 pallet spaces on an area of 5,000 square meters, a representative showroom, new offices and a laboratory for product testing are also being built.

Despite cloudy skies in the industrial area of Bedburg Mühlenerft, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new logistics center of NITRAS could be realized on the morning of September 27. After long planning and corresponding preparatory work on the site, the construction could thus officially start. The new building not only enlarges the existing warehouse and office space, but also includes some space for a new NITRAS showroom. Here, in a stylish and at the same time comfortable ambience, the entire NITRAS product range will be made tangible and the brand world will be brought to life. Furthermore, an own laboratory for various product tests will be built, which among other things will support the high quality assurance at NITRAS. The heart of the new logistics center, however, is the 5,000 square meters of storage space that are being created. While the previous halls at NITRAS can hold a total of around 7,200 pallets, the new warehouse alone has space for 10,500 pallets

"The cornerstones of our corporate policy include flexibility and reliability. We want to offer our customers and partners fast availability from stock. For this reason, we are investing in a future-proof logistics center and a lot of space," said Jens Thome, Managing Director at NITRAS. "To be able to continue to ensure that new and existing products can be stored in larger quantities, this was the logical next step."

But it is not only logistical goals that are being pursued with the new building. The logistics center, planned by the architectural firm p5 and implemented by Max Bögl, is also intended to meet the sustainable requirements that NITRAS places on itself. Thus, the new building will be constructed according to sustainable standards and solutions, such as the DGNB Gold Standard and efficiency building BEG EG 40. The hall roof will also be equipped with a photovoltaic system.

"Sustainability and environmental protection are becoming increasingly important. We at NITRAS have set ourselves ambitious, ambitious goals in this regard. We are glad that we succeeded in realizing the new building according to effective sustainable standards," Ingo Kielholtz, Managing Director at NITRAS, was pleased to say.

In addition to Jens Thome and Ingo Kielholtz, the groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the third managing director of NITRAS, Tim Kielholtz, as well as Marco Lohau from d&d Baumanagement, Sascha Albers from Max Bögl and Christian Otto from p5.
