The correct fit of safety footwear is crucial for your comfort, health and safety at work. What seems comfortable in the morning can quickly turn out to be a burden during the course of the day - with pressure points, lack of support or even pain.
Shoes that are too small pinch and lead to fatigue or poor posture, shoes that are too big slip and increase the risk of injury. Both can have a negative impact on your performance and well-being.
Precise foot measurement helps to avoid this. Knowing your foot length, width and circumference makes it easier to find the right shoe - for optimum support and long-lasting comfort throughout the working day.
Only well-fitting shoes offer the necessary stability and safety. That's why precise measurement before purchase is not an extra, but a prerequisite for healthy, safe working - step by step.
How to measure correctly:
A - Foot length: Measured from the back of the heel to the longest toe. For optimum comfort, you should allow around 15 mm extra room - this is roughly the width of your thumb.
B - Foot width: Across the ball of the foot. Too narrow a fit can lead to friction, heat build-up and fatigue.
C - Foot circumference: Once around the forefoot, also measured over the ball of the foot. The circumference also determines whether a model is suitable for narrower or wider feet - an important factor for a snug fit and comfortable wear.
Example: Your foot length is 260 mm. With the recommended buffer of 15 mm, this results in an ideal inner shoe length of 275 mm. Then measure your foot width and circumference as described. The corresponding size can now be determined in the size chart.
