Our year of innovation and responsibility for a sustainable future
2024 was a year full of innovative new features, successful projects and sustainable developments for us.With a great deal of commitment and a view to the future, we were not only able to raise our internal processes to a new level, but also achieve success in the areas of social and environmental responsibility. In this review, we would like to share with you the most important milestones of the past year that have shaped us as a company.
Social responsibility: donations, collaborations and commitment to society
In 2024, we once again took our responsibility as a company seriously and made a social commitment.At the beginning of the year, we donated 1,000 euros to the Regenbogenland children's and youth hospice in Düsseldorf. Children and young people who have a limited life expectancy due to a life-shortening illness are supported by Regenbogenland. By trying to make the remaining time as positive as possible, Regenbogenland does incredibly important work, which we support with our donation.
We also donated personalized NITRAS clothing to the Bedburg food bank, which provides people in need with perfectly good food on a voluntary basis.
New building: focus on quality and efficiency
Our expansion and further renovations in the new building will be another highlight in 2024.In the modern laboratory, we have created testing facilities that allow us to test our products even more thoroughly. Among other things, the universal testing machine enables us to carry out puncture and tear propagation tests. With the help of these tests, we can determine the resistance of our protective gloves and thus ensure compliance with EN 388. The Martindale abrasion test is one of the most important methods for determining the durability and resilience of fabrics. It allows us to test how long different materials last when they are worn down by rough forces. We can carry out chemical permeation tests on the Quamat 401. These tests measure how quickly a liquid chemical moves through the glove material. With these tests, we meet the requirements of EN ISO 374-1 and can offer maximum safety and quality.
We have opened a new showroom to improve the presentation of our products and the company. The modern and interactive space enables us to present our innovative strength directly and personally to our customers and partners, while at the same time creating an even closer relationship.
Sustainability: Our commitment to the environment
Sustainability is a key issue for us, which we continued to drive forward in 2024. Since this year, we have been offering our customers easier guidance on the sustainable aspects of our products with the help of the newly introduced sustainability traffic light in the catalog. Our aim is to create greater transparency and raise awareness of sustainability issues.We have also largely promoted sustainability with the expansion of our logistics center. Our photovoltaic system on the large hall roof generates sustainable energy and supplies it directly to our new charging stations for electric vehicles and e-bikes. This has enabled us to significantly reduce our CO2 emissions.
We are particularly proud of our silver medal award from EcoVadis. With this award, we remain in the top 15% of the most sustainable companies rated by EcoVadis in 2024.
Trade fairs and new products: Innovation for our customers
Over the past year, we have further expanded our international presence. At Expoprotection in Paris and Techday in Le Castallet, France, we were able to present NITRAS to a broad international audience. This year's trade fairs were an excellent opportunity for us to make new contacts and further promote our brand.2024 also brought a number of new products that expand our range and offer our customers even more choice and functionality. These include the Duffle Bag 792, the 3456 // GREEN BARRIER CUT chemical protection gloves and the new ESD 3D product range. We are constantly evolving and are committed to providing our customers with the best solutions.
38 years of Nitras: looking to a successful future
This year, we celebrated our 38th anniversary and many other events. We are celebrating not only our long history of success, but also our ability to constantly reinvent ourselves and adapt to the challenges of the times. We are particularly proud of our long-standing employees who celebrated their anniversaries this year: Ralf celebrated 25 years, Boris 10 years and Martin and Maren 5 years at NITRAS.With a successful 2024 behind us, we look to the coming months with confidence. We will continue to invest in innovation, sustainability and social responsibility and strengthen our company for the future. Together with our employees, customers and partners, we are ready to take on new challenges and continue to act as a reliable partner.
