WHY HAVE OUR OWN TESTING LABORATORY?

Personal protective equipment must function reliably in day-to-day working life – often under the most demanding conditions. That is why it is not enough to test products only at the end of their development. Quality must be ensured throughout the entire product life cycle and continuously improved.

For this reason, we have established the AS Quality Center – our own state-of-the-art testing laboratory at our Bedburg site. Here, we test our products in accordance with internationally recognised standards and supplement these with our own practical testing procedures. In this way, we lay the foundations for consistently high product quality and can incorporate new findings directly into the development process.

But why did we deliberately opt for an in-house testing laboratory – and what benefits does this bring for our customers?

FASTER TESTING, FASTER IMPROVEMENTS

A key advantage of our in-house testing laboratory is the short lines of communication. Tests can be carried out directly on site, without having to rely on external resources. This means results are available more quickly and potential improvements can be implemented straight away.

Development, quality management and production work closely together in this process. New products can be supported right from the development stage, and existing products can be continuously improved.

Our in-house testing laboratory offers the following benefits:

+ Faster testing and development processes

+ Direct coordination between all departments

+ Shorter response times for optimisations

+ Early identification of potential for optimisation

+ Continuous further development of our products

MORE PRECISE TESTING – GOING BEYOND THE STANDARD

It goes without saying that we test our products in accordance with internationally recognised standards. But our ambitions go further than that. At the AS Quality Centre, we supplement standard-compliant tests with our own testing methods, which simulate real-world operating conditions as closely as possible.

This enables us to evaluate products even more precisely, identify deviations at an early stage and gain valuable insights for further development. The result is not only products that comply with standards, but PPE that also proves its worth in everyday working life.

Our tests include, amongst others:

+ ESD testing of safety footwear

+ Chemical permeation tests in accordance with EN ISO 374-1

+ Test procedures in accordance with EN 388, e.g. abrasion, cut, tear and puncture tests

+ Grip strength tests for protective gloves under dry, wet and oily conditions

+ LABS tests

HIGHER QUALITY FOR OUR CUSTOMERS

Having our own testing laboratory is not an end in itself for us. It is a key component of our quality management system and enables us to continuously monitor and further develop our products, whilst ensuring the highest quality standards.

The result is reliable products, transparent testing processes and well-founded test results. At the same time, we can respond more quickly to new requirements and provide our customers with practical recommendations for the safe use of our PPE.

After all, our aim is not merely to meet standards – but to develop products that our customers can rely on every day.

QUALITY THAT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Through the AS Quality Centre, we are constantly investing in quality, safety and innovation. Find out more about our testing laboratory and discover how we develop and test PPE – so you can rely on our products in your day-to-day work.
